MEET BRIAN
As a wannabe mage, raised on Captain Crunch and newspaper horoscopes in the Chicago suburbs, I performed magic shows for my friends and neighbors. I would have been thrilled to hear an oracle's prediction that, over the years, I would come out as gay, move out West, follow my passion for divination, and become a consulting astrologer.
My Scorpio Moon and I have seen a lot. In the last decade, I have taught yoga to individuals with schizophrenia, secured housing for families experiencing homelessness, and poured wine for billionaires at a remote fly fishing lodge in the Alaskan tundra. More recently, as a psychedelic integration guide, I facilitated group circles for queer psychonauts and helped ketamine clients explore, investigate, translate, and map the complex terrain of their psyche.
I'm fascinated by the way astrology mirrors our strengths, challenges, and potential, and I'm passionate about utilizing astrology to provide my clients with context and clarity as they navigate life’s big questions.
The cosmos reminds us that we are part of a larger whole, and like the rhythms of the natural world, our lives have seasons, cycles, and phases. I look forward to helping you navigate this chapter of your life.
ASTROLOGY BACKGROUND
My journey in astrology began in late 2021, and my teacher and mentor, Kelly Surtees, significantly shaped it. I completed her Astrologer Training Program in late 2023, and since then, I have been fortunate to continue my studies with her in various mentoring settings. I am deeply grateful for her ongoing support, guidance, and teaching, which have been instrumental in my educational and professional development.
I would also like to thank the teaching assistants in Kelly's program—Larry Arrington, Britt Broekhaus, Michael J. Morris, and John Uhlig—who nurtured and encouraged my growth as a fledgling astrologer.
My studies in Hellenistic astrology deepened in 2022 when I began studying with Demetra George. Through her in-person and online Hellenistic Astrology retreats, I have intensively explored concepts such as Planetary Condition, Houses, and Time Lords. In the summer of 2024, I attended the Time Lords Summit, where I presented my work, “Hellenistic Time Lords and The Diary of Anne Frank.” I am grateful for Demetra’s mentorship and guidance over the years.
Additionally, I am a student in Chris Brennan's Hellenistic Astrology Course and Austin Coppock's Essentials of Astrology Training Program, a comprehensive three-year course.
More recently, in the spring of 2024, I completed my Practitioner's Level Horary Certificate through the School of Traditional Astrology (STA).
I appreciate my teachers' generosity, support, and wisdom, which have deepened my understanding of astrology's intricate aspects and healing potential.
